As promised for quite awhile now, we are in the process of turning the old Northwest District Library back into a functioning independent community-based library.
- We are working with University of Buffalo’s Department of Library and Information Studies to weed, organize, and build upon our collection, as well as bring more library-related resources to the Center.
- We are purchasing books through Talking Leaves on Elmwood, who have been extraordinarily helpful. Stop by sometime and browse for yourself!
- UB’s computer science students are also helping with setting up the software/hardware necessary for the library catalog. So, you’ll soon be able to check books in and out, and have a membership card of your own.
- We’ve received a generous grant from Western NY Service Learning Coalition to build on our library as well, so a huge thank you goes out to them too.
